Midnight Madness Picks: Richard Crouse

Only three sleeps to go before the insomnia begins! If you're still having a tough time deciding which Midnight Madness titles to see this year, I'll be posting a handful of picks from some fine feathered friends of ours in film-critic-land.

Our first selections come from Richard Crouse, who I dare say is the best-dressed critic in the biz. He is (taken from his bio) the host of Reel to Real, author of six books on pop culture history including The 100 Best Movies You’ve Never Seen, Reel Winners and the upcoming Son of the 100 Best Movies You’ve Never Seen. He is the regular film critic for CTV's Canada AM.

"My picks for Midnight Madness this year entail everything from samurais to hosers to John Carpenter. Bunraku --who could resist a samurai that reunites Indecent Proposal stars Woody Harrelson and Demi Moore? Fubar II promises more headbanging fun and John Carpenter's The Ward places the director right where he belongs... in a mental institution. Also VERY curious about James Gunn's film Super. Anyone who could write Tromeo and Juliet and Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed clearly has something interesting to say!"

Bunraku screens:
Saturday, September 11. 11:59PM Ryerson
Tuesday September 14 . 10:15PM Scotiabank 2
Friday, September 17. 5:00PM Scotiabank 2
